| Both of us have been involved with ranching and critters all of our lives. It seems that we - forever - been with the 24/7 life of caring for animals of one kind or another. In our "younger" years we did a lot of ranch work. I had horses for 32 years. Eventually the horses no longer had a job to do and we 'sadly' let them go in 93. Then I became involved with Netherland Dwarf Rabbits - raised and showed them until 2001 when we made the decision to get out of the rabbit biz and devote more time to our goats.. we raised registered Nigerian Dwarf goats for about 5 years, then got into the adorable little Mini Donkeys. Summer 2005 we moved on. Due to life situations - we have had to let the hooved livestock go.. Now -It is just us,and our dogs. We keep very busy with raising our own herbs for both cooking and teas and we also grow our own garden in the summers. And I have taken up Photography which is something that is helping to finally get us away from the place now and then after all these years of being so tied to all the livestock. |
| Last Thoughts from our Beloved Pets If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain does keep me from sleep Then will you do what must be done? For this - the last battle - can't be won You will be sad I understand But don't let grief stay your hand For on this day, more than the rest Your love and friendship must stand the test We have had so many happy years You wouldn't want me to suffer so When the time comes please let me go. Take me to where my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me till the end. And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree, It is a kindness you do for me. Although my tail- it last has waived, from pain and suffering I have been saved. Don't grieve that it must now be you, we had to decide this thing to do. We've been so close - we two - these years, Don't let your heart hold any tears. |
