DEATH IN A CAN
A Can Full of Illness....
Do you love your soda? Can't wait for that next can of coke? Here is a few tidbits to think about before you
guzzle that next can of pop..

Once you drink a coke here is what happens over the next hour..

In about 10 minutes or less around 10 or more teaspoons of sugar hits your system.  The only thing that
keeps you from throwing up from the gagging sweetness is that phosphoric acid is also an ingredient and
cuts the flavor..

In around 20 minutes or less, your liver has to respond to the insulin burst from all that sugar. So it turns
those massive amounts of sugar into fat.  And, your blood sugar spikes.

Within around 40 minutes your body has absorbed the caffeine so your blood pressure rises, your
pupils dilate and your liver has to dump more sugar into your blood.

About 5 more minutes and your body has an increase of dopamine production.  That stimulates the
pleasure centers of your brain..   By the way, this is a physically identical response that one has to heroin..

At around 60 minutes - you start to have your sugar crash...
White bread used to be at the top of the list as a source for calories in our diet.  As of 2005, soft drinks
replaced white bread by moving to the top of that list.

Besides 10 or more teaspoons of sugar, a can of soda has approximately 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of
caffeine, and is loaded with artificial food colors and sulphites. Not to mention the fact that it’s also your
largest source of high fructose corn syrup.

The average American consumes more than 60 gallons of pop every year..  Along with High Fructose Corn
Syrup here are a few other ingredients in the average can of soda.

Sugar: We know that sugar increases insulin levels.  Raised insulin levels can lead to high blood
pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, weight gain, premature aging and diabetes --- just to name a
few.
Phosphoric Acid: This ingredient can neutralize the hydrochloric acid in your stomach which can interfere
with digestion which can make it difficult for our system to utilize nutrients.  It can also interfere with our
bodies ability to use calcium.
Caffeine: We all know what to much caffeine can do.. Besides the jitters, problems sleeping, the depletion
of vitamins & minerals, and raised blood cholesterol, it has been known to cause irregular heartbeat and
has been said to contribute to breast lumps, birth defects and maybe some forms of cancer..
There is no doubt in my mind that the over-consumption of pop and sweet drinks in general is one of the
leading causes of the obesity epidemic in America and other countries as well.
Just having one can of pop a day can add as much as 15 pounds of weight during a year and increases
the risk of diabetes 85%.
Many brands of pop has a preservative called
Sodium Benzoate. This has the ability to switch off vital
parts of our DNA thus causing DNA damage. This could eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver and
Parkinson's.

What about diet soda?  Yes many have switched to diet soda in hopes that they might loose weight
or not gain more.
The fact is that diet soda is even worse for us than regular soda.  Diet soda and many diet products
contain Aspartame as its a sugar substitute.  And its a chemical.. Aspartame is one of the most dangerous
substances ever added to food & drink in my opinion.  There are over 90 different health side affects
associated with Aspartame.  That list includes brain tumors, birth defects, diabetes, emotional disorders,
and even epilispsy/seizures.  And its been proven to bring on weight gain not loss.

Aspartame has brought more complaints to the FDA than any other additive-ever. It's
responsible for a full 75 percent of the complaints the agency gets. From 10,000 consumer
complaints, the FDA compiled a list of more than 90 symptoms, including death.

There's even more proof that these toxins are MAKING US FAT! Some recent research conducted at
Purdue University shows that a group of test subjects fed artificial sweeteners subsequently consumed
THREE TIMES THE CALORIES of those given ordinary sugar.

I hope that this article might give readers some pause before picking up that next can of soda..  I especially
hope it gives pause before handing one to your children.
